Customized Support for Multicultural Children and Youth to Growth Stage

1. Multicultural Childcare Sharing
  • Object : Marriage immigrants who use the Multicultural Family Support Center and their children
  • Contents : Providing childcare information, using spare time, setting and running multicultural childcare sharing place for the smooth functioning
  • Organization in charge: Buk-gu Multicultural Family Support Center
    • Multi-cultural family support center: Busanjin-gu, Buk-gu, Haeundae-gu
    • Family center: Seo-gu, Dong-gu, Yeongdo-gu, Dongnae-gu, Saha-gu, Suyeong-gu, Sasang-gu, Geumjeong-gu
2. Supporting Multicultural Children for Basic Learning
  • Object : Multicultural pre-schoolers and elementary students
  • Contents : Study support including basic Hangeul, math, reading and writing, and guides to help adaptation to elementary school and education system
  • Organization in charge: Multicultural Family Support Center and Family Center(Seo-gu, Dong-gu, Yeong-do, Busanjin, Dongnae, Buk-gu, Haeundae, Saha, Geumjeong, Suyeong, Sasang-gu)
3. Educational Activity Support for Children from Low-Income Multicultural Families
  • Eligibility : Children aged 7 to 18 from multicultural families whose income falls between 50% and 100% of the median income.
  • Details
    • Support is provided for purchasing educational materials, using study rooms, and obtaining online learning subscriptions to enhance learning abilities through case management.
      ☞ Elementary school: 400,000 KRW, Middle school: 500,000 KRW, High school: 600,000 KRW
  • Implementing Institutions : Multicultural Family Support Centers and Family Centers (For Jung-gu and Gangseo-gu, the respective district offices handle the program).
4. Scholarship Support for Children from Multicultural Families
  • Eligibility : High school students from multicultural families (7 recipients)
  • Details : Annual support of approximately 4 million KRW per person for academy fees, textbook costs, etc.
  • Implementation Method : City Government (promotion and nomination of recipients), Eunseong Medical Foundation (scholarship funding), Green Umbrella Children's Foundation (program execution)
5. Customized Career Program Support for Multicultural Youth
  • Eligibility : Children from multicultural and foreign families aged 7 to 24
  • Details : Support for career exploration and selection through career counseling, employment consultation, and aptitude tests
  • Implementing Institutions : Three Multicultural Family Support Centers (Busanjin, Buk-gu, Haeundae-gu) and three Family Centers (Seo-gu, Dong-gu, Sasang-gu)
6. Home Visit Education
  • Eligibility: Multicultural families who have difficulty accessing the center
  • Details: Home visit education provided twice a week (2 hours per session) by center instructors
    • Korean Language Education: Levels 1 to 4, vocabulary, grammar, culture, etc.
    • Parental Education: Child-rearing, family counseling and emotional support, information provision, etc.
    • Child Life Services: Reading coaching, homework guidance, basic life habits, career guidance, etc.
  • Implementing Institutions: Four Multicultural Family Support Centers (Busanjin, Nam-gu, Buk-gu, Haeundae-gu) and seven Family Centers (Seo-gu, Dong-gu, Yeongdo-gu, Dongnae-gu, Saha-gu, Sasang-gu, Gijang-gun)
7. Child Language Development Support
  • Eligibility: Children from multicultural families who need language development education (12 years old and under)
  • Details: Classes held twice a week, 40 minutes per session, conducted as one-on-one (1:1) or group lessons

  • Object : Low-income multicultural family
  • Contents : Providing free comprehensive health checkup for 100 people/year(500,000 KRW/person)

3. Establishment of an Emergency Support System for Marriage Migrant Women
(1) Shelter for Migrant Women : 1 facility (within 2 years, provides accommodation and meals, counseling, treatment, and repatriation support, etc.)
