Oryukdo Sunrise Park
A skywalk to remember
source: busan.go.kr/galmaetgilBusan’s skywalks offer a breathtaking escape from the daily grind. These unique walkways provide panoramic ocean views and a refreshing sea breeze. Whether visiting with loved ones or exploring solo, these skywalks promise a thrilling and scenic adventure.🌊 Oryukdo SkywalkPerched on a coastal cliff in Yongho-dong, the Oryukdo Skywalk dares adventurers to step 35 meters above the crashing sea on a glass-bottomed bridge. Expanded in 2023, the 16.5-meter walkway offers heart-pounding views straight down through tempered glass. At the edge, a tower viewer frames Oryukdo’s six mystic islets—Sol, Shield, Lighthouse, Eagle, Cave, and Drill—whose count seems to shift with the tide.🌊 Cheongsapo Daritdol & Haewol ObservatoriesCheongsapo Daritdol Observatory dares thrill-seekers with a 191-meter U-shaped skywalk stretching boldly over the Haeundae coastline. Expanded in 2024, its fully glass-floored final section delivers a jaw-dropping view straight down to the churning sea. Just nearby, the Haewol Observatory adds to the adventure with its crescent tower, sweeping U-shaped deck, and a circular glass plaza perched 22 meters above the waves. For a quieter, more magical experience, visit at sunrise or sunset, when soft light meets open sea. After dark, the observatories come alive with vibrant LED displays.🌊 Songdo Cloud WalkInspired by the historic Cloud Bridge that once graced Songdo Beach, the Songdo Cloud Walk stretches 365 meters over the sea, claiming the title of Korea’s longest skywalk. Suspended 5 to 9 meters above the waves, its glass floor adds a thrill to every step, like floating on water. The path leads to Geobukseom Islet, steeped in the romantic tale of a sea dragon’s daughter and a fisherman. After dark, vibrant lights transform the walkway into a glowing, photogenic dreamscape, with cable cars drifting overhead.🌊 Songdo Yonggung Suspension BridgeSpanning 127 meters between Amnam Park and Dongseom Islet, this striking bridge features steel mesh walkways that deliver a rush of ocean views beneath your feet. Once across, Dongseom offers panoramic sights of Songdo Beach, soaring cable cars, Namhangdaegyo Bridge, and Oryukdo. The bridge glows with soft lights as evening sets in, perfect for a romantic stroll or a photo at one of its scenic snap spots.<Today's Vocabulary - 오늘의 단어>breathtaking: 숨이 막힐듯한 daily grind: 반복되는 일과 cliff: 절벽 dare: ~할 용기를 내다 observatory: 전망대 boldly: 대담하게 crescent: 초승달 모양 inspire: 영감을 주다 beneath: 아래에Editor: Song SoomiCopy Editors: Ryu Hyoseung, Anton J. Recruitment Campaign for Busan Foreign Resident Connectors
Recruitment Campaign for Busan Foreign Resident Connectors□ Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Global City Foundation are now recruiting participants for the inaugural Busan Foreign Resident Connectors, designed to amplify the voices of resident aliens and facilitate community involvement.○ The Busan Foreign Resident Connectors program provides foreigners living in Busan with the opportunity to share their day-to-day experiences and policy suggestions as valued members of society, contributing meaningfully to the city’s development.○ This program is an upgraded version of the three previous cohorts of the Busan Foreign Resident Council that have been formed since 2019. While the previous format focused primarily on meetings and opinion gathering, the revamped one encourages participants to proactively engage in local initiatives and propose practical, district-specific policies.□ Selected Connectors will join district-level projects, create content about foreigner-friendly spots, eateries, and lifestyle tips by district, as well as receive capacity-building training.○ Allowances, volunteer hours, and other incentives will be given to selected Connectors. Their activity logs will also be posted on Life in Busan, a support platform tailored to resident aliens.□ The program aims to illuminate living conditions from the perspectives of resident aliens and foster a more inclusive, global, and sustainable city through open dialogue and cooperative policymaking.□ Foreign nationals aged 18 or older who have resided in Korea for at least one year and in Busan for at least 90 days are eligible to apply.□ Applications can be submitted online at www.bgcf.or.kr by April 23, 2025.
