Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on the Prevention and Support of Agricultural and Fishery Work Safety Accidents

Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance No. 7349, 3. July, 2024., Enactment

  • Article 1 (Purpose)
  • The purpose of this ordinance is to regulate necessary matters for the prevention and support of safety accidents occurring during agricultural and fishery work by farmers and fishery workers in Busan Metropolitan City, with the goal of improving the quality of life for agricultural and fishery workers through securing safety and promoting health.
  • Article 2 (Definitions)
  • The terms used in this ordinance shall be defined as provided in Article 2 of the Act on Safety Insurance for Farmers and Fishers and Prevention of Work Accidents (hereinafter referred to as “Act”).
  • Article 3 (Responsibilities of the Mayor)
  • The Mayor shall establish and implement policies necessary for the prevention and support of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’.
  • Article 4 (Eligibility for Support)
  • The recipients of support under this ordinance are ‘farmers and fishers’ and ‘agricultural or fishery worker’ residing in Busan Metropolitan City.
  • Article 5 (Relationship with Other Ordinances)
  • Unless otherwise specified by other ordinances, matters related to the prevention and support of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’ shall be governed by this ordinance.
  • Article 6 (Support Plans)
  • (1) The Mayor may establish and implement a support plan for the prevention and support of work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries in Busan Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as "Support Plan").
  • (2) The Support Plan under paragraph (1) shall include the following:
    • 1. Goals and basic direction of policies for the prevention and support of ‘work accident in agriculture or fisheries’
    • 2. Research, investigation, dissemination, and guidance necessary for the prevention and support of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’
    • 3. Education and publicity for the prevention of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’
    • 4. Any other matters deemed necessary by the Mayor for the prevention and support of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’
  • Article 7 (Support Projects)
  • The Mayor may pursue the following projects for the prevention and support of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’:
    • 1. Research, investigation, dissemination, and guidance for the prevention of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’
    • 2. Educational and publicity projects for the prevention of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’
    • 3. Support for the ‘safety insurance for farmers or fishers’
    • 4. Diagnosis and improvement of the risks in ‘agricultural or fishery work-related environments’
    • 5. Training and utilization of professionals for the prevention of ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’
    • 6. Any other projects deemed necessary by the Mayor for the prevention and support of ‘work accident in agriculture or fisheries’
  • Article 8 (Financial Support)
  • The Mayor may provide full or partial financial support within the budget to individuals, corporations, or organizations implementing the projects under Article 7.
  • Article 9 (Supervision and Monitoring)
  • The Mayor may have relevant public officials conduct frequent checks or inspections, or request the submission of necessary materials, to ensure the appropriate use of the funds provided under Article 8.
  • Article 10 (Cooperative System Establishment)
  • The Mayor may establish a cooperative system with relevant institutions, corporations, and organizations for the prevention and support ‘work-related accident in agriculture or fisheries’.

  • This ordinance shall enter into force on the date of its promulgation.
