Tourist Police Force Launched to Patrol Tourist Attractions and Help Foreign Tourists.

A new Busan Tourist Police Force has been officially launched to help foreign tourists visiting Busan. The force, made up of 35 members, is fluent in six foreign languages including English, Chinese and Japanese. The launching ceremony was held on July 3, in the main auditorium of the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency.




Members of the Tourist Police Force will help foreign tourists and aid in preventing crimes by patrolling popular tourist hot spots such as Haeundae, Gwangalli and Nampo-dong. In particular, the police will focus on controlling various kinds of crimes related to foreign tourists such as the incidence of illegal call-vans targeting foreign tourists, the overcharging of tourists by taxi drivers and the practice of pressuring tourists into shopping.
