□ Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Infrastructure Corporation have confirmed that the ‘Gwangandaegyo Smart Tolling System’ will be adopted on February 1st, 2025, for the first time among municipality-managed toll roads nationwide.
○ Smart tolling imposes tolls on drivers by identifying their license plate, regardless of whether their car is equipped with a Hi-pass. Drivers will not need to stop or slow down since toll booths will no longer exist.
□ While drivers may keep using their existing Hi-pass terminal, those without a Hi-pass terminal must choose between two payment methods: registered credit card or pay later.
○ If you prefer the registered credit card option, please enter your credit card information at gwangan.bisco.or.kr. Tolls will be billed to the credit card on file.
○ Alternatively, you can pay online at the Gwangan Bridge website (bisco.or.kr/gwanganbridge) or by phone (☎1688-8830) within fifteen days after your trip.
○ After the fifteen-day grace period, you will get a notification electronically. If the electronic notification has not been delivered, you will be sent a printed one.
□ To encourage the use of the Hi-pass system and pre-registration payment method, a 100 won discount off the toll fare will be offered.
□ Those subject to exemptions, as outlined in the Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on the Collection of Tolls, etc. of Toll Roads, including vehicles for multi-child families and accessible taxis called ‘Duribal,’ will be exempt from all tolls through the exempt vehicle management system.
○ Vehicles eligible for exemptions, but not using a Hi-pass terminal, will not receive toll notifications.
○ Vehicles eligible for exemptions with a Hi-pass terminal will be charged tolls; however, refunds will be issued immediately. If you want automatic exemptions, enroll your Hi-pass number at bisco.or.kr/gwanganbridge.

□ If you are a toll-exempt subject as per the Toll Road Act, such as a National Meritorious Person or person with a disability, you can claim exemptions after choosing the means to verify if you are riding in the vehicle.
○ If you hold a Welfare Card Hi-pass, you can apply for the Welfare Card Hi-pass toll reduction & exemption service at www.hipass.co.kr.
○ If you hold a Hi-pass toll reduction & exemption terminal, scan your fingerprint on the terminal when passing across the bridge.
