□ On December 24th, 2024, the Busan Museum of Art will launch the ‘Busan Museum of Art Metaverse,’ where virtual tours will be available.
□ The Busan Museum of Art Metaverse is deeply rooted in endeavors to keep up with the revolutionary use of the interconnected space between reality and virtuality, and promote public awareness even during the facility’s renovation period.
○ Last April, the museum signed a joint research and development agreement with The Crossing Lab, a game developer.
□ This metaverse houses three different exhibits: ‘Collection 99.999,’ ‘Busan Art & Its Beginning,’ and ‘BMA.’ You can encounter 274 selected works from the Busan Museum of Art collection by 108 artists.
○ ‘Collection 99.999’ showcases the high-resolution photos of 99 works of art that the museum takes pride in, harnessing the strength of metaverse-enabled art appreciation.
○ ‘Busan Art & Its Beginning’ portrays the characteristics of Busan and the timeline of Busan art through the fine pieces of the first generation of Busan artists.
○ ‘BMA’ highlights new media artworks that explore diversity in contemporary art and the full-scale development of Korean media art. Immerse yourself in the feeling like you are in a private theater, where you will be able to enjoy them anytime, anywhere.
