Launch of 'Big Shop,' Busan’s City Brand Shop
□ On November 25th, 2024, Busan Metropolitan City will publicly unveil 'Big Shop' (Busan is good Shop), a select shop specializing in Busan’s city brand, in Gwangbok-ro, Jung-gu. The shop is committed to boosting the city’s brand recognition and the local economy as well.
□ With all the expectations on its shoulders, Big Shop is poised to serve as a hub for promoting the city’s brand value by leveraging Busan's tangible and intangible assets—becoming more than just a place of business. The collaboration with the community, including ‘Busan Brand Partners’ (local businesses) and local creators, will further contribute to promoting Busan's unique identity.
○ It is not merely a curated souvenir marketplace for tourists, but a cultural destination where citizens can rediscover the significance of their locality and feel a deep sense of pride and connection to Busan.
○ Local businesses will have a golden opportunity to market and sell their products based on Busan's city brand at Big Shop, thereby enhancing their brand awareness and unlocking their domestic and international market potential.
□ Big Shop, with a total floor area of 173.9 square meters, is composed of the City Brand Experience & Exhibit Hall (Big FAN Zone) (1F) and the Busan City Brand Goods Shop (2F).
○ Pop-up spaces, which will be rented out to different establishments according to a time period or particular theme that mingles the city brand and the local community—like Busan Brand Partners—fill the first floor; exhibition and sales spaces for fan merchandise featuring the charms of Busan are located on the second floor.
□ The first local company to take over the pop-up space is SLASH B SLASH, which will showcase Busan-exclusive items, mobile personalization items with artificial intelligence, and DIY cell phone accessories with Disney characters under intellectual property rights.
○ As part of the grand opening celebration, SLASH B SLASH will introduce 'Mickey & Friends in Real Life Busan,' a one-of-a-kind product that brings the globally beloved Mickey Mouse into the heart of Busan. This exciting offering will surely pique your interest and make your visit to Big Shop a memorable one.
□ The second floor is a treasure trove of merchandise from Busan Brand Partners, City Brand Goods Design Contest winners, and city-branded merchandise from SAGAGSAGAG—all embracing Busan's tangible and intangible assets and city brand.
○ In commemoration of the opening of Big Shop, prizes, such as city-branded T-shirts by Sejeong and SAGAGSAGAG goods, will be given away through a mystery box event.
