Busan Sets Up Boogi Zone at the Busan Cinema Center

□ The city of Busan has announced that starting on December 24, 2023 operations will begin at the Citizens’ Communication Space, “the Boogi Zone”, where citizens can meet the city’s public outreach character Boogi, at the Cine Lounge on the sixth floor of the Busan Cinema Center.
□ At the Boogi Zone, Busan’s citizens and Boogi fans can spend some time with with Boogi. The space reproduces a classic cinema image using red and gold colors and is 12 meters long, operating under the theme, ‘Busan, a Movie City’.
○ The Zone’s 3D space allows visitors to feel as though they have become a hero/heroine in a movie.
□ When you enter the Boogi Zone, you will be welcomed by various images of Boogi as a different character, such as a movie director, a clapper, and Boogi walking on the red carpet.
○ Visitors can experience a selfie-zone surrounded by famous film parody posters. A large mirror is set up here, so visitors can write any words or phrases they want on the mirror and take a photo alongside Boogi.
○ In the first half of this year, Busan plans to install more Boogi paraphernalia and decorate the Boogi Zone with a variety of cute props.
□ At the end of the Boogi Zone, there is an exhibition of various Boogi-themed goods.
○ The exhibited goods are manufactured and sold by the companies participating in the “Public Outreach Character’s Intellectual Property Rights Open Project” promoted by Busan to support local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and businesses.
○ Goods can be purchased using the QR code attached to each item.
