Busan bus and metro fares are set to increase on October 6. The new bus and metro fares will come into effect at 4 a.m. on October 6, 2023.
As part of the city’s efforts to reduce the burden on household budgets, bus and metro fares in Busan for children ages 6 to 12 will be free with a children’s transportation card beginning October 6, 2023. The public transportation (bus, metro) fare in Busan for children ages 0 to 5 has already been free. As such, the ages of children that qualify for a free ride on local buses, village/neighborhood buses and metros has been extended this time.
To enjoy a free ride on the bus or metro children have to use a transportation card specifically for children. The card can be purchased at convenient stores (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, emart 24), and the child can use it after registering their birth date. You can register the card on the mobile app 로카M충전소. With the children’s card, a fare for children will not be charged.
