The Korea Tourism Organization and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have jointly compiled the “100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of Korea” list every two years since 2013 to promote the spots both domestically and internationally. The list is selected based on document and on-site evaluation by tourism specialists, and deliberation by the select committee.

The eight Busan tourist spots listed in the latest issue include;

▲ Taejongdae Recreation Area, known for its fantastic views of coastal cliffs, and appearing on the list for the sixth time.

▲ Haeundae Beach, the representative beach of Busan, situated amid tall skyscrapers, luxury hotels, restaurants, an observatory presenting city and beach views, and a beach-side train with plenty of other things to enjoy. Along with nearby Songjeong Beach, it is one of the nation’s best beaches and loved by domestic and international visitors alike. This marks the fifth time it has appeared on the list since 2013.

▲ Gamcheon Culture Village, dubbed the ‘Machu Picchu of Korea’. Busan’s mountainside village is becoming widely known around the world as a successful case of a creative urban regeneration project. This marks the fourth time it has been on the list since 2015.

▲ Yongdusan Park·Jagalchi Special Tourist Zone, located in the old downtown area and one of the venues for Busan's film festival.

▲ Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge, a tourist attraction in the Songdo Beach area which offers the thrill of walking above the open sea. This marks the third time it has appeared on the list since 2013.

The latest issue covers three new locations in Busan, including:

▲ BUSAN X the SKY is an observatory with the best ocean and city views on the 98-100th floors of Haeundae LCT Landmark Tower, the tallest building in Busan. The location also includes the city's green railway. Busan Green Railway (also known as Haeundae Green Railway) is a 4.8km coastal walking trail (Mipo ↔ Sonjeong) on wooden decks built alongside the former Donghae Nambu Railway Line

▲ Gwangalli Beach & SUP zone, the mecca of SUP (standup paddleboarding) and water sports in Busan.

▲ Osiria Tourism Complex, one of the year-round representative tourist destinations with many attractions situated within this one complex, such as Lotte World Adventure, Skyline Luge Busan, Lotte Premium Outlet East Busan, IKEA and more.

Along with the eight tourist spots in Busan, the city has plenty of other attractions to keep visitors entertained.

With the coming of Visit Korea 2023-24, the city plans to help uncover and promote various tourism content for domestic and oversea visitors to the international tourist city of Busan.
