Busan Signs MoU with BTS agency Hybe to Support Busan’s bid for the 2030 World Expo

BTS will hold a global concert in conjunction with their appointment as ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The city of Busan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Chairman of Hybe Corporation Bang Si-hyuk and CEO of Hybe Corporation Park Ji-won to support Busan’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo on June 24, 2022 at Busan City Hall. As part of the MoU, BTS was appointed as ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo and are expected to hold a global concert in Busan to promote the city’s bid for the 2030 World Expo.
The main content of the MoU includes BTS’s action plan as ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo and Hype Corporation’s contribution plan for the development of popular culture in Busan area.
The BTS’s action plan as ambassadors for the 2030 Busan World Expo in the MoU include:
▲ Appoint BTS as ambassador for the 2030 Busan World Expo
▲ Hold BTS Global Concert in Busan to raise support for the 2030 Busan World Expo
▲ Conduct negotiation activities with BIE member countries
▲ Guide BIE’s on-site inspection team
▲ Promote the 2030 Busan World Expo during presentations of World Expo 2030 Candidate Cities at the BIE General Assembly
▲ Convey messages to request support of Busan’s bid for the 2030 World Expo on the voting day for the final venue decision.
▲ Shoot photos and videos for digital promotional activities
▲ Spread promotional videos of the 2030 Busan World Expo through BTS’s official SNS accounts
The Hybe Corporation will promote participation in the city’s cultural projects to establish Busan’s cultural infrastructure and promote culture, as well as cooperate to attract cultural content business partners in the private sector.
