The City of Busan has announced that it will begin the operation of a multi-pay commuter discount on all paid-roads in Busan starting April 15, 2022.

The multi-pay commuter discount benefits Hi-pass system users or Hi-pass card users using cash lanes who cross multiple bridges and tunnels in Busan within a set window of time (4 minutes per kilometer). The bridges and tunnels eligible for the discount include, Gwangandaegyo, Busanhangdaegyo, and Eulsukdodaegyo bridges, while the tunnels include, Baegyang, Sujeongsan, Sanseong, and Cheonma tunnels.

If you make trips using these bridges and tunnels sequentially within 4 minutes per kilometer, after having paid the regular toll fee on the first toll, you will receive a discount of 200 won each from your second toll to the next toll you pass through regardless of the type of vehicle.

The multi-pay commuter discount is for users of Hi-pass lane. However, those paying the toll with a Hi-pass card using cash lanes will also get the discount as well. However, the discount is not available for vehicles already receiving benefits from other exemptions.

The City of Busan ran the trial operation of a multi-pay commuter discount between Busanhangdaegyo and Cheonma Tunnel for a month from March 15, 2022. It went smoothly without any major problems. The set window of time (within 3 minutes per kilometer) for the discount during the trial operation has been increased to 4 minutes per kilometer. Because it can be difficult to meet the set time while commuting.
