The City of Busan has reduced the operation of buses and subways after 10 p.m. starting December 23, 2021 due to the recent rapid increase in COVID-19 cases and tightening of social-distancing measures in the Busan area. The changes are designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by minimizing unnecessary movement and encouraging people to go home early. The city reduced the operation of local buses after 10:00 p.m. by 20 percent and village/neighborhood bus after 10:00 p.m. by 8 percent starting December 23, 2021. Buses with 30-minute or longer intervals or crowded bus routes will be excluded.
The night operation of subways and the Busan-Gimhae light rail transit line will be reduced after 10:00 p.m. by 20 percent starting December 23, 2021 until further notice. The night operation will be flexibly adjusted as a result of congestion (if it exceeds 150 percent at night).
All local buses, village/neighborhood buses, subways and light rail transit trains are regularly disinfected. Regular disinfections will be conducted at all metro stations once a week, major metro stations once per day, inside trains three time per day, local buses and village/neighborhood buses before and after their operation.
