Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority and the Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) signed a joint agreement on July 27, 2021 at Busan City Hall to build an international school in Myeongji District, also known as Myeongji International City.
As part of the MOA, each organization will provide administrative support for the foreign educational institution to be well-constructed and well-settled in the area.
Royal Russell School from the UK has been selected as the foreign educational institution in Myeongji. Royal Russell School, founded in 1853, is an independent school in South London, England. With its academic ambition and dedication, the school provides an outstanding range of academic and extracurricular experiences to students aged 3 to 18.
The BJFEZ, Royal Russell School and Busan Metropolitan City signed an MOU for the establishment of the Royal Russell School Busan Campus in Myeongji International City in November 2019.
The Royal Russell School’s Busan Campus, with outstanding facilities including a school building for classes, dormitory and gym, is planned to welcome its first students in 2024.
With the Busan Campus of Royal Russell School, Myeongji International City is expected to contribute to the community by offering a high educational environment and fostering future global leaders.
