The City of Busan and Busan Tourism Organization released a video featuring Korean longboard sensation Ko Hyojoo entitled, “[Ko Hyojoo X Visit Busan] Longboard Riding in the Ocean”, which promotes the charm of the international tourist city of Busan to the world. The video can be viewed on Busan’s YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa8_ZzdW81A starting November 6th.
Popular Korean long boarder Ko Hyojoo is a global social media influencer with 3 million subscribers to her YouTube channel. She became an international sensation through her viral video showing her skating through the streets of Los Angeles in 2016, receiving a tremendous amount of hits.
She has collaborated with famous global media outlets in the fields of fashion, cosmetics, music videos, magazines and more as a graceful longboard dancer. This is her first time working with a local government to promote tourism for Busan.
The Busan promotional video features skating scenes at the best spots for longboarding in Busan - Busan Cinema Center and ‘Street of Cinema’ in Marine City, Haeundae-gu, and a V-log introducing good photo-taking spots at Hocheon Village and Huinnyeoul Culture Village.
The video making episode in Busan will be released on Ko Hyojoo’s personal YouTube channel as well.
Ko Hyojoo was devoted to finding the best filming locations for showcasing the beauty of Busan and longboard riding. She hopes that people enjoy the video as much as she enjoyed shooting it. She showed her special love for Busan by using a longboard decorated with the ‘Visit Busan’ logo.
The City of Busan appointed Ko Hyo-joo as an honorary citizen of the International Tourist City of Busan Metropolitan City on December 5, 2020 in recognition of her devotion to the production of the city promotion video.
