Renault Samsung to Produce Ultra-compact Twizy EV from October in Busan

The celebration for the start of production of the Twizy in Busan was held on October 1 at Renault Samsung’s plant in Busan.
Renault’s production facility for the ultra-compact Twizy electric vehicle (EV) moved to Busan from Valladolid, Spain last year. Beginning in October, Dongshin Motech, an auto parts manufacturer in Busan, will produce the Twizy for the Korean and overseas markets.
Such success is a result of the city’s efforts to activate the regional economy and create new jobs.
Renault Samsung will provide the production site, technological support, and supply the parts, while the Busan Metropolitan City will give administrative and financial support for facility investment and sales expansion. Dongshin Motech will produce about 5,000 units of the Twizy a year for domestic sales and exports. It is expected to create 53 jobs and bring in sales of 300 billion won by 2023.
