The City of Busan has announced that free Wi-Fi service on a total of 2,517 local buses began on August 26, 2019.
The city implemented free public Wi-Fi hotspots on a total 2,517 local buses as part of its “Free Wi-Fi Busan” project, a result of signing an agreement with the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The public Wi-Fi implementation project on local buses began on 270 local buses in May 2019, with the service now available on the additional 2,247 local buses as part of the second phase of the project.
The free Wi-Fi service on local buses will help reduce bus passengers’ data usage on their mobile phones and be utilized as a part of the city’s tourism infrastructure.
Free public Wi-Fi with the SSID ‘PublicWifi@Bus_Free_0000’ is available on all local buses in Busan.
The ‘0000’ on SSID is the number of the bus you are on board.
The secured public Wi-Fi networks are available on local buses in Busan, however when using public Wi-Fi, we encourage users not to access personal bank accounts, or sensitive personal data.
