The City of Busan has announced that it will appoint K-pop singer Kang Daniel as an honorary ambassador of Busan on July 9, 2019. The honorary ambassador appointment ceremony will take place on July 9, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Sajik baseball stadium. The ceremony is expected to be broadcasted through the city’s official social media channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/DynamicBusan) and the Busan Tourism Organization facebook account.

Kang Daniel debuted in the reality survival show, Produce 101 Season 2, in which he emerged as the winner. Since then, he has been on top of the monthly brand ranking for individual K-pop boy group members for 13 consecutive months and become a worldwide celebrity.

Kang Daniel has been selected as one of three honorary ambassadors of Busan, along with Bae Jeong-name and Lee Kyung-kyu, as the result of an event where citizens were asked to recommend which celebrity would best represent the city’s charm.

Kang Daniel commented on the announcement, “I’ve always wanted to do something for Busan, the city I was born and raised in. I’m glad and feel a sense of responsibility to be named as the city’s promotional ambassador. Even though Busan is already a great city, I will try my best to help, even if it is just a little bit, for it to grow into a better city.”

The appointed honorary ambassadors of Busan will make social contributions to the city and its citizens, and offer their talents.
