The City of Busan and OSIRIA Theme Park PFV Co., Ltd. broke ground at the OSIRIA theme park, an anchor facility of the OSIRIA Tourism Complex on May 16, 2019.
The OSIRIA Tourism Complex development project began in 2010 in order to build a luxury tourism complex in Gijang-gun, where visitors can stay and enjoy themselves throughout the year. A total of 34 facilities, including a theme park, fitness and leisure facility, hotel and condominiums, and shopping center among others are planned to be built at the complex. Investment commitments to build 28 facilities at the complex have already been completed.
With the creation of approximately 2,900 jobs, four facilities, including the Busan National Science Museum, East Busan Lotte Mall and Hilton Busan/Ananti Cove are already in operation.
The theme park expects to create about 2,200 jobs when it is completed. Along with the theme park, the OSIRIA tourism complex will become a popular tourist attraction in the southeast region of Korea by creating about 100,000 jobs and attracting 20 million visitors annually.
The 500,000 square meter theme park is scheduled to be completed and ready to be opened at the beginning of 2021 and will have its own Skyline Luge and approximately 30 rides.
