The Korean Football Association (KFA) has announced that Busan has been selected as the venue for the international friendly football match between Republic of Korea (ROK)’s national team and Australia’s national team. The game is scheduled to take place at Asiad Main Stadium in Busan on June 7, 2019. It has been 15 years since an international friendly football match took place in Busan after the ROK played Germany in Busan in 2004.

The City of Busan and KFA have been systematically managing the stadium to keep the football pitch in its best condition for the game since the end of last year.

The City and KFA expect that football fever, which began with the football match between ROK and Costa Rica in September 2018, will peak in Busan alongside the active promotion of the game.

The City of Busan was named as host of the East Asian Cup 2019, the football championship of East Asia, which is scheduled to take place in December 2019. The city will strive to make these two events successful.
