The President of “Busan Saran”, Masayuki Kon of Japan has been appointed as an honorary citizen of Busan Metropolitan City in recognition of his contributions in promoting Busan through his YouTube channel, “Waboiso Busan (와보이소 부산).”
Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don expressed his thanks by bestowing honorary citizenship and a city souvenir to Masayuki Kon at Busan City Hall on March 12, 2019.
Masayuki Kon founded the non-profit organization, ‘Busan Saran” (busansaran.com) in June 2015 and has been operating the YouTube channel “Waboiso Busan”, which provides over 300 videos about tourist attractions, food and restaurants in Busan. It is a popular Youtube channel with over 30,000 subscribers.
Masayuki Kon said, “I am very pleased to be an honorary citizen of Busan. I will make continuous efforts to promote my beloved city, Busan, through various exchange activities.” He also announced his plan to incorporate ‘Busan Saran’ in the first half of the year.
