The City of Busan has announced that 6 tourist spots in Busan, including Taejongdae, Gamcheon Culture Village, Haeundae Beach, Songdo Beach, Jagalchi Market and Marine City were chosen as part of the 2019-2020 “100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of Korea.”
The
Korea Tourism Organization and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have
jointly compiled the “100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of Korea” list every two
years since 2013 to promote them both domestically and internationally. The
list is selected based on the evaluation by tourism specialists and big data
analysis of popular tourism locations in the country.
Among
the six tourist spots in Busan listed in the latest issue are;
▲
Taejongdae, known for its fantastic views of coastal cliffs, made it on the list
for the fourth times.
▲
Gamcheon Culture Village is dubbed the ‘Machu Picchu of Korea’. Busan’s
mountainside village is becoming widely known around the world as a successful
case of a creative urban regeneration project. This marks the third time it has
been on the list since 2015.
▲
Haeundae Beach, the representative beach of Busan, is situated amid tall skyscrapers,
luxury hotels, restaurants, an aquarium and plenty of other things to enjoy. It
is one of the nation’s best beaches. This marks the third time it has appeared
on the list since 2013.
The
latest issue covers three new locations in Busan including:
▲
Songdo Beach, the first public beach in Korea, has many things tourists can
enjoy, including the Songdo marine cable car and Songdo Skywalk.
▲
Jagalchi Market is Busan’s main seafood market, selling fresh seafood caught in
the southern waters of Korea.
▲
Marine City attracts Korean and oversea tourists with its beautiful and
stunning skyline views, especially at night.
In
addition to these 6 tourist spots in the latest issue, Busan is a dynamic city
of tourism, which has both nature landscapes – sea, mountains, rivers and hot
springs – and a bustling urban environment with plenty of things to enjoy year
round, including festivals, cultural exhibits, marine sports, night views, local
cuisine, shopping and much more.
