Busan
Metropolitan City won the mobility award at the World Smart City Awards 2018
with its Smart Intersections project (traffic data collection & analysis,
alternative route information services). The city’s Smart Intersections project
collects traffic data in real time and analyzes the level of traffic congestion
across the city by using deep learning algorithms.
The
project has drawn attention from participating cities around the world with
heavy traffic congestion issues in their own countries.
Busan’s
smart city project will be applied, not only to transportation, but also to all
sectors of city administration to develop best practices to share around the
world.
