Busan
Metropolitan City and WeWork, a global provider of shared workspaces, have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding on November 5, 2018 at Busan City Hall to
open a new office in Busan.

Mayor Oh Keo-don previously met with Matthew Shampine, Director of WeWork
Asia-Pacific, to discuss the company opening a Busan office and job creation
for Busan’s citizens on October 16, 2018.
WeWork,
a hub that connects startups with about 268,000 members worldwide, not only
provides workspaces, but also offers networking opportunities, education, and
mentoring programs to startup companies via WeWork Labs
WeWork
Korea plans to open its office in Seomyeon, Busan in the first half of next
year and expand thereafter with additional offices in the Centum area in
Haeundae and near Busan Station.
WeWork
was founded in 2010 by Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey in New York. Currently
it operates across 77 cities in 23 countries with over 43,000 member businesses,
over 268,000 members and over 7,000 employees. WeWork Korea opened its first
location in Gangnam on August 1, 2016 and has expanded its offices to Euljiro, Gwanghwamun
Gate, Tehran Valley, Yeouido and Jongno Tower in Seoul.
