Busan Mayor’s First Official Overseas Trip to Singapore and Vietnam

Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don has returned from his first official three-day trip abroad to Singapore and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam on November 3, 2018.
The mayor’s overseas visit aimed to form strategic partnerships with rapidly growing ASEAN countries in order to gain a foothold for Busan-based companies’ products to enter into ASEAN markets and strengthen closer cooperation.
Mayor’s Overseas Trip Highlights:
In Singapore,
- The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Minister for Transport, Khaw Boon Wan and discussed launching direct flights between Busan and Singapore, as well as benchmarked Singapore’s port development policy
- Met with financial officials
- Met with Marina Bay Sands’ CEO in Singapore and visited PSA International Pte Ltd. (PSA)
- Attended business consultations with the Busan Trade Mission
In Vietnam,
- The delegation paid a courtesy visit to Chairman of the Hồ Chí Minh City People's Committee, Nguyễn Thành Phong and finalized a settlement to form a committee for practical cooperation for metro systems, water and fishing industries, cultural and personal exchanges and a funeral facility.
- The mayor also attended a Busan-based product promotional event in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam and visited and consulted with Busan-based companies doing business in Vietnam
