Jeongwol Daeboreum Fire Festival
On the day of the first full moon of the Lunar New Year, which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month of the year, the Jeongwol Daeboreum Fire Festival is held in order to pray for good health and good fortune in the coming year.
This year the festival falls on Wednesday, February 12th, and a variety of events, such as a Daljip burning (the burning of a large straw heap bonfire under the light of the moon), Jisin-balgi (stomping on the ground to comfort the god of the earth) and the performing of folk plays are being planned at a number of locations around Busan.

Venue: along Haeundae Beach from 15:00 through 19:10 (moonrise: 17:42).

26th Suyeong Traditional Daljipnori
Date & Time: Wednesday, February 12, starting at 14:00
Location: Gwangalli Beach
Programs: Cultural Experiences, Performances Suyeong Yaru, Jwasuyeong Eobang Nori, Suyeong Nongcheong Nori), Tightrope Walking, Jisinbalgi, Ritual Offerings, Tea Party
Daljipnori will begin at 17:42 when the moon rises. A 16-meter-tall moon house will be burned to ward off bad luck and bring blessings. Locals and tourists alike can write their wishes on paper, which will be wrapped around the Daljip (moon house) before burning.
＊Please note that sparks from the fire may cause damage to clothing. Fireworks and sky lanterns are strictly prohibited.
