The ‘Drone Show Korea,’ which was initiated as the first specialized exhibition and conference for drones (UAV) in Korea in 2016, will be held at the BEXCO for three days from January 24, 2019.
This fourth drone event is hosted by the
Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and
the Busan Metropolitan City, and organized by the BEXCO and the Korea UVS
Association. The ‘2019 Drone Show Korea’ will intensively deal with the
expandability of drones on the topic of ‘Connected by Drone.’ In particular, a
new paradigm for the drone industry is expected to be presented by suggesting
the directivity of future drones linked with other technologies such as 5G,
sensors, and fuel cells. In addition, cases where the utilization of drones are
actually expanded to public institutions and corporations will be presented.
In addition to the major domestic and overseas
drone corporations and institutions, such as the Korea Aerospace Research
Institute, Korean Air, Uconsystem, and the DJI, the Doosan Mobility Innovation
(DMI), SK telecom, etc. are scheduled to be newly involved in the exhibition,
making a new advance toward collaboration with the drone industry. In
particular, the ‘Special Maritime Hall’ shows the limitless possibilities of
drones in the sea, such as underwater robots and water drones; and the ‘Special
Space Information Hall’ features companies related to spatial data
(measurement, mapping, etc.), which has recently been in the spotlight for the
utilization of drones.
Representing the identity of ‘Drone Show
Korea,’ the conference will feature presentations on the trend and prospect of
the aviation and drone industry in the world given by around 40 speakers from
five countries who are involved in global institutions, including Teal Group.
Additionally, special sessions will be operated by domestic drone-related
research institutions and local governments to explore the present and future
of the drone industry. They will also explore the expansion of drones to other
industries involving power sources, sensors, AI, 5G, and spatial data, as well
as examine the utilization cases of drones to meet public demand in the era of
the 4th Industrial Revolution.
A variety of additional events, including
‘Drone Crash,’ ‘DIY Experience Class,’ and ‘Drone Idea Awards’ are also
prepared to enhance the public’s awareness of drones and expand the subject
base.
