Busan International Seafood & Fisheries EXPO 2018 will be held for the 16th time this year for 3 days from October 31, 2018 (Wed) to November 2, 2018 (Fri) at Exhibition Center I, BEXCO. Busan International Seafood & Fisheries EXPO 2018 is hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by BEXCO, Korea Fishery Trade Association, National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives and KOTRA and will have 950 booths for 410 companies from 22 countries This event is sponsored by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Korea Fisheries Associations, and Korea Overseas Fisheries Associations.
This EXPO has been certified by UFI and selected as a promising exhibition for 11 straight years by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and is the only seafood & fisheries exhibition in the country and one of three specialized seafood & fisheries exhibitions in Asia. High ranking officials including ministers, vice-ministers, and directors from foreign governments will participate in and engage in diplomatic activities. Especially, it is expected that active exchanges related to relevant industries will take place through the export consultation session where 70 marine product buyers from all over the world will participate during the exhibition period (3 days).
The 'Seafood zone', 'Marine equipment zone', 'New product promotion zone', 'Special Busan fish cake zone', 'Special fishing (fishing tackle) zone' are areas where visitors can learn about the latest information and trends about fishing and the fishing industry at a glance and the 'Marine bio industry zone' will introduce applied products using new marine bio materials and the results of technical researches in maritime science and the 'Special smart culture zone' will link IT technologies with the fishing industry. The KOFFST International Conference, Busan Fisheries Policy Forum and the Dietitian Association Seminar will be held concurrently, and additional events including Tuna Trimming Show, Chef Won-ill Lee's Cooking Show with SBN and 2018 Ocean Chef Cooking Contest Sponsored by Korea Fisheries Infrastructure Promotion Association will be held, presenting various spectacles.
