The
Vietnam National Museum of History (VNMH) and Korea’s National Research
Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage have co-organized a special exhibition
entitled “The Age of Discovery: Asian Ceramics Found Along the Maritime Silk
Road”. The exhibition will take place from April 17 to June 17 at the Korea
National Maritime Museum.
The
exhibition aims to introduce the heritage of Vietnamese maritime culture to the
Korean public and international audiences. The exhibition displays collections from
five shipwrecks salvaged from the Vietnamese sea. The collections mainly
consist of ceramics that were being exported on ships from Vietnam, China and
Thailand between the 15th and 18th centuries.
