Busan Hospitality Industry Unites to Ensure the Success of the 2025 National Sports Festival and National Para Games

The City of Busan (Mayor Park Heong-joon) announced that it held a “Pledge Ceremony to Welcome Guests for the 2025 National (Para) Games” on April 15 at the main auditorium of Busan City Hall, in partnership with the Busan Chapter of the Korea Hotel Business Association.

This event was organized in preparation for the upcoming 106th National Sports Festival and the 45th National Para Games, both of which will take place in Busan this year. The aim was to foster a clean, safe, and trustworthy lodging environment, offering fair prices for visiting guests and athletes.

Approximately 450 hospitality business operators participated in the ceremony, where they recited a pledge and shouted slogans to express their shared commitment.

• ●Representing local lodging businesses, Seo Gwang-gwon, Chairman of the Busan Chapter of the Korea Hotel Business Association, read the official pledge. The statement emphasized the industry’s commitment to providing friendly, clean accommodations at fair prices.

• ●Participants then collectively chanted the slogan: “Busan Lodging! Good!” demonstrating their enthusiasm for welcoming athletes and visitors alike.

The City of Busan announced plans to build on the momentum of this ceremony by continuing efforts to improve the city’s hospitality sector and enhance visitor satisfaction, ultimately making Busan a destination that people want to visit again.

Key initiatives include:
▲ Establishing a “Safe Lodging” environment through public-private partnerships,
▲ Raising voluntary hygiene standards within the industry, and
▲ Creating an atmosphere that fosters the provision of high-quality lodging services.

Lee So-ra, Director General of the Citizen Health Bureau, stated,
“To ensure the success of this year’s National Sports Festival in Busan, we are committed to offering clean, comfortable, and welcoming hospitality services.”

Meanwhile, this year marks the first time in 25 years that the National Sports Festival and the National Para Games will be held in Busan since the 81st National Sports Festival in 2000.

• ●The 106th National Sports Festival will be held from October 17 to 23, spanning 7 days across 82 venues, featuring 50 events centered around the Busan Asiad Main Stadium.

• ●The 45th National Para Games will take place from October 31 to November 5, over 6 days at 38 venues, showcasing 31 events.
