Busan and Paris Baguette Release “Fireworks Cake with Boogi”

On Oct. 14, Busan Metropolitan City announced that they would release a redesigned Boogi cake in line with Busan’s autumn festivals, including the BTS <Yet to Come> in Busan concert in support of the 2030 World Expo and the Busan Fireworks Festival.

The cakes are made in collaboration with the premium bakery brand Paris Baguette. They are slated to be sold at approximately 400 Paris Baguette stores in the Busan and Gyeongnam regions. After the release of the cake with the city outreach character Boogi design, the cake was ranked first in character cake sales, garnering popularity among Busanites.

The name of the designed Boogi cake is “Fireworks Cake with Boogi.” To commemorate the BTS World Expo concert, held in Busan on Oct. 15, and publicize the city’s autumnal festivals, the existing Boogi cake was redesigned this year.

The cake is covered with light purple chocolate, BTS’s signature color. Boogi’s image enjoying the Busan’s Fireworks Festival, is featured atop the chocolate glazed surface.

The release of the redesigned cake is expected to inform tourists about city attractions. The cakes are anticipated to help Busan’s bid for the World EXPO in 2030, and help Paris Baguette franchise stores. Approximately, 10 Boogi cakes are sold a day in the Paris Baguette Busan Station store, which is frequented by tourists.

The Fireworks Cake with Boogi is scheduled to be sold until November. However, the sales period may be extended based on consumer demand.
