The city of Busan is promoting COVID-19 vaccination for foreign residents in Busan from February 6 to February 20, 2022. The city designated 4 medical institutions to boost the COVID-19 vaccination rate among foreign residents in Busan.
As the recent rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in the Busan area due to the Omicron variant takes place, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 among foreign nationals has also increased. However, the booster inoculation rate of foreign nationals in Busan is 35.0% (as of Feb. 3, 00:00), lower than the 59.7% (as of Feb. 3, 00:00) among native Koreans in Busan.
The 4 medical institutions are located in Geumjeong-gu, Gangseo-gu and Sasang-gu where many foreign workers and international students either work or live.
The 4 medical institutions include: 갑을녹산병원 Kabul Noksan Hospital (Gangseo-gu), 예인의원 Yein Clinic (Sasang-gu), 수이비인후과의원 Soo ENT Clinic (Geumjeong-gu), 최내과의원 Choi Internal Medicine Clinic (Geumjeong-gu).
Interpreters will be stationed at the medical institutions to help fill out the COVID-19 vaccination report form and explain the vaccination guidelines for foreign nationals in the ROK. Assistance in different languages will be provided at the designated medical institutions.
The city plans to consider expanding or extending the service depending on the performance of the campaign.
Expats can make a vaccination reservation through the website (ncvr.kdca.go.kr), and unregistered foreigners can receive a temporary code from a community health center in order to make a reservation to get vaccinated.
