The City of Busan has announced that 8 tourist spots in Busan, including Taejongdae, Gamcheon Culture Village, Haeundae Beach, Yongdusan Park·Jagalchi Special Tourist Zone, Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge and Songdo Beach, Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams and Dadaepo Beach, Huinnyeoul Culture Village and Songjeong Beach were chosen as part of the 2020-2021 “100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of Korea.”

The Korea Tourism Organization and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have jointly compiled the “100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of Korea” list every two years since 2013 to promote the spots both domestically and internationally. The list is selected based on an evaluation by tourism specialists and big data analysis of popular tourism locations in the country.

Among the eight tourist spots in Busan listed in the latest issue are;

▲ Taejongdae Recreation Area, known for its fantastic views of coastal cliffs, and appearing on the list for the fifth time.

▲ Gamcheon Culture Village, dubbed the ‘Machu Picchu of Korea’. Busan’s mountainside village is becoming widely known around the world as a successful case of a creative urban regeneration project. This marks the fourth time it has been on the list since 2015.

▲ Haeundae Beach, the representative beach of Busan, situated amid tall skyscrapers, luxury hotels, restaurants, an observatory showcasing city and beach views, a beach-side train and plenty of other things to enjoy. It is one of the nation’s best beaches. This marks the fourth time it has appeared on the list since 2013.

▲ Yongdusan Park·Jagalchi Special Tourist Zone, located in the old downtown area and one of the film festival venues in Busan

▲ Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge, a new attraction to the Songdo Beach area where visitors can enjoy a magnificent sea view while walking on the bridge

The latest issue covers three new locations in Busan including:

▲ Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dreams and Dadaepo Beach, where people can enjoy beautiful sunsets and fountain shows.

▲ Huinnyeoul Culture Village, a beautiful village resembling Greece's Santorini, built on sea-side cliffs in Yeongdo-gu.

▲ Songjeong Beach, one of the favorite places for university students and couples taking wedding photos.

The city plans to promote these 8 tourist spots online with the Busan Tourism Organization. The city will focus on tourism trends - safety, cleanliness and natural healing – to promote them due to COVID-19 control measures.
