Busan Metropolitan City announced that it has formed the ‘Global Citizen Advisory Group for International Tourism City’ as a foreign citizen participatory project to create the “International Tourism City Busan” together.
The city received online applications for the ‘Global Citizen Advisory Group for International Tourism City’ from November 2 to November 23, 2020 among foreign residents in Korea who are interested in Busan tourism. As a result, 14 foreigners from China, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, United States, Canada, England, France and Ghana were selected after a document and interview evaluation process from among 34 entries from 16 countries.
The selected Global Citizen Advisory Group for International Tourism City consists of foreign residents who have lived for three to ten years or longer in the Busan area and are working in various fields, including hotel, university, tourism, marketing and advertising, broadcasting, and global influencing.
During their two-year term, they will participate in regular meetings twice a year starting next year and work as advisors on international tourism city projects by request. They will also join the familiarization (FAM) tour, various events and festivals hosted by the City of Busan.
