BUSAN METROPOLITAN CITY ORDINANCE ON SUPPORT FOR TURN TOWARD BUSAN

- Article 1 (Purpose)
- The purpose of this Ordinance is to promote the dissemination of sacred values of peace and sacrifice that are common to humanity through civic participation by prescribing matters necessary to implement the Turn Toward Busan support program that commemorates the spirit of the United Nations (UN) armed forces that participated in the Korean war.
- Article 2 (Definition)
- The term "Turn Toward Busan" in this Ordinance means the event held annually on November 11thto commemorate and honor the United Nations (UN) armed forces that participated in the Korean War on June 25th.
- Article 3 (Responsibilities)
- (1) Busan Metropolitan City shall endeavor to foster broad civic consensus related to Turn Toward Busan.
- (2) Busan Metropolitan City shall prepare and implement policy measures necessary to encourage civic participation in Turn Toward Busan.
- Article 4 (Support for Projects)
- The Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City (hereinafter referred to as the "Mayor") may, for the efficient implementation of Turn Toward Busan, support the following projects:
- 1. Projects for publicizing Turn Toward Busan;
- 2. Projects for providing citizens with education on Turn Toward Busan;
- 3. Projects for encouraging patriotism in relation to Turn Toward Busan;
- 4. Other projects deemed necessary by the Mayor.
- Article 5 (Financial Assistance)
- (1) The Mayor may provide whole or partial financial assistance to a non-profit corporation or a non-profit organization engaged in any of the projects in accordance with Article 4, within the budget.
- (2) Methods and procedures for providing financial assistance under paragraph (1) and other relevant matters shall be governed by the Busan Metropolitan City Ordinance on Management of Local Subsidies.
ADDENDUM
- This Ordinance shall enter into force one month after the date of its promulgation.
