Busan International Motor Show to be held from May 30 - June 8 at BEXCO

Under the theme of “Ocean of vehicles, Feeding the world,” the 2014 Busan International Motor Show will be held from May 30 - June 8 at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO).

  

A total of 21 Korean and foreign automakers along with roughly 200 auto parts and accessories manufacturers will participate in a number of events scheduled to be held at BEXCO’s largest exhibition hall. This year’s event promises to be the biggest and best in the show’s history which dates back to 2001 as space for the show has increased by 54% from 2012.

  

The six Republic of Korea​'s automakers participating include Hyundai Motor Co., Kia Motors Corp, GM Korea Co., Renault Samsung Motors Co., Hyundai Commercial Vehicle, and Kia Commercial Vehicle as well as 15 foreign manufacturers like AUDI, BMW, CADILLAC, FORD, INFINITI, JAGUAR, LAND ROVER, LEXUS, LINCOLN, MASERATI, MERCEDES-BENZ, MINI, NISSAN, TOYOTA, and VOLKSWAGEN.

  

Besides BMW’s Motorrad motorcycle, a new two wheeled vehicle from Samchuly Bicycle and new car accessories from Bullsone and other brands will also be introduced.

  

The world premiere of several new designs from Hyundai Motor as well as the Asia and Korea premieres of other Korean and foreign automakers are also set to take place.  Renault Samsung Motors, whose main plant is located in Busan, plans to increase the size of its exhibition compared to 2012 to include more concept and electric cars.

  

Foreign carmakers are also set to expand their booths to target the market in the Yeongnam area where the market share of foreign cars has shown a steep incline. JAGUAR and LAND ROVER will participate in the motor show for the first time in 6 years.   


The City of Busan is focused on making this year’s motor show a festival for all, and also aims to enhance business-to-business function and support automobile related industries in Korea. Through the motor show, the city hopes to steer itself in the direction of becoming a Mecca for the auto industry in the country’s Southeast region.

  

Press Day is May 29th and the event will open to the public on May 30 at noon.

The opening hours are from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Last admission is one hour before closing.)

On weekends and public holidays (May 31, June 1, 4, 6, 7, and 8), opening hours will be extended until 7 p.m.   

  

The admission is 8,000 won for adults and 5,000 won for youths. Admission is waived for preschool children, seniors over 65 years of age, and those who have received national distinction. Disabled persons may also enter for free and are able to bring one guest.
