Korean Wave Beach Concert to be held on Gwangalli Beach on October 28.

This year’s Busan International Fireworks Festival is expected to receive worldwide attention with one of the world’s biggest fireworks shows lighting up the autumn evening sky, while a major Hallyu Concert will see K-POP singers and groups performing in front of tens of thousands of people.  

 

The 7th Busan International Fireworks Festival will take place from October 21 thorough 29 at Gwangalli Beach. As a pre-event to the fireworks festival, a Korean Wave Beach Concert will be held on October 28 for 90 minutes from 7 p.m. on the Special Stage at Gwangalli Beach.

 

K-POP singers including Big Bang, SHINee, Kara, T-ara, Miss A, U-Kiss, Seven, Psy, and ZE:A will all perform, providing unforgettable memories for domestic and international tourists, and Busan citizens alike.

 

This special event of the 2010~2012 Visit Korea Year, co-hosted by Busan City, the Visit Korea Committee and SBS, will be broadcast live on SBS and KNN TV in Korea, the United States and Japan as well. 

 

The concert is free and will be seated on a first come first served basis. Foreign tourists can request a concert invitation card in advance at the Busan Tourism website

On the same day as the concert, Korean actress Choi Ji-woo, who has been designated as a goodwill ambassador for tourism in Busan, will have a party in celebration of the publication of her book, ‘Love Story in BUSAN’ at 2 p.m. on the 9th Floor of Shinsegae Department Store in Centum City. Two hundred foreign tourists will be invited to the autograph session to receive souvenirs at the event. 

 

A City official said, “This festival aims to promote Hallyu culture and the Busan International Fireworks Festival to a worldwide audience.”
