□ Busan Metropolitan City has announced that pre-registration for admission tickets to the 2024 Busan International Children's Book Fair, the first of its kind in Korea, will kick off on November 1st, 2024.
□ The 2024 Busan International Children's Book Fair is slated for November 28th through December 1st over four days at the BEXCO Exhibition Center 1. The theme, 'Laputa,' signifies the aspiration to build a space brimming with children’s imagination and dreams—Laputa is a fictional floating island that Gulliver visits on his third voyage in Gulliver's Travels.
○ Approximately 170 publishing houses and organizations from 16 countries will participate in this fair.
○ It is sponsored by Busan Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism and hosted by the Korean Publishers Association.

□ The 2024 Busan International Children's Book Fair is comprised of the grand opening with popular children’s authors in attendance, exhibitions, talks with domestic and foreign authors, signings, copyright seminars, and much more. A rich tapestry of intriguing events has been prepared to invite you into the world of books.
○ You will have the privilege to meet a plethora of authors whom people of all ages adore, such as Baek Hee-na (recipient of the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, regarded as the Nobel Prize for children's literature, in 2020), Lee Suzy (2022 Hans Christian Andersen Award winner), and Cha Hanna (2024 Caldecott Honor award-winning illustrator).
○ The themed exhibition, embracing ‘Laputa’ in over 400 children's books, will allow young readers to indulge in the joys of reading. They will also be able to express their feelings boldly and creatively at the Kids Atelier Zone.
○ From November 16th to 24th, the ‘Program along with Libraries’ will run as a sneak peek at eight locations, including the Busan City Hall Open Library, Busan Metropolitan Simin Library, Busan Cinema Center Film Library, and Yangsan Central Library, featuring renowned writers and illustrators—Hwang Seon-mi, So Yun-kyoung, Kim Gaemi, and Lee Geum-yi.
