If trekkers walk the 12km coastal trail from Imnang
throughChiram and Ilgwang to Gijang-gun Office,they
can fully enjoy the beginning of Galmaetgil while feeling
the quaint seaside village and coastal atmosphere.
With the recent opening ofthe Donghae Line, accessibility to Imnang Beach has improved.
Chiram means the sea that is choppy and black as if it
were painted with lacquer.
Ilgwang is the place where Nangye Oh Young-su lived
since the end of the Japanese colonial period, and
became the background of his representative work,
'Seaside Village'.
