[BIFA] CALL FOR CREATOR - 2024 Residency in Busan
Busan City of Film is pleased to announce that Busan Independent Film Association is now looking for creators who would like to join “2024 Residency in Busan” project. This project aims to produce an omnibus documentary set in Busan, providing an opportunity for creators to share experiences and engage in exchange. Anyone interested and passionate in filmmaking is sincerely welcome to apply.
⠀⠀1. Application Period: April 10, (Wed) - May 15, (Wed), PM 11:00, Korea Standard Time
2. Participants: 4 individuals (2 from overseas, 2 from Busan) * Announcement: June
3. Eligibility:
- Creators based in film or visual media (filmmaker, visual artist, etc.)
- Capable of preparing personal shooting equipment
- Individuals without restrictions on overseas travel and able to stay in Korea during the program period
- Who can communicate in English
4. Residency Period: August 12th - September 2nd(tentative), Residency community space at Suyeong Byeolchae
5. Support Provided:
[General] Mentoring and exchange programs
[International] Airfare, accommodation
6. Obligations
- Sincere participation in the entire program provided by the organizer
- Compliance with the organizer's requests (space usage rules, film production schedules, etc.)
- Consent to online/offline promotion of profile, Film information, and images
7. Production Overview:
- Genre: Documentary, essay film, experimental film, etc., non-fiction
- Production Process: Production of Busan background omnibus documentary
- Showcase screening at the 8th Busan Intercity Film Festival (August 30 - September 1, 2024, Busan Cinema Center)

9. Evaluation:
- 1st document screening < Interview screening for those who pass the 2nd document screening < Announcement of results
* Interview screening: Face-to-face interview for Koreans, Zoom meeting for foreigners
* Individual contact for 1st and 2nd screening candidates
* Final result announcement: Busan Independent Film Association website (www.indiebusan.com) and SNS (Instagram indiebusan, Facebook indiebusan)
